Is Your Sweet Tooth Sabotaging You?
When you think about your health goals and what stands in your way of reaching them, do you every think… “If only I didn’t have such a sweet tooth?”
I thought that too at one time.
I didn’t think there was any way I could give up cookies, candy or ice cream. After all, WeightWatchers said that I didn’t have to. That I could eat all that junk (plus pizza, french fries, etc.) and still lose weight.
The truth is that if you don’t eat that stuff, if you don’t eat the sweets, then you don’t crave them. True story.
My strongest cravings for sweets come after having indulged in sweets.
The cure to the cravings is just not having the sweets at all.
Of course, there are always keto friendly treats like Rebel ice cream or things made with low glycemic sweeteners. Sometimes these things feed the sweet cravings, but often it can satisfy them. It’s really trial and error.
Your challenge will be in processing the urge to eat a sugary thing – allowing yourself to want it, but not give in. Do this enough times and you can break the addiction! It just takes practice.
